Trip Update #4: Final Thoughts
On June 6, Lauren and many other colleagues travelled to Shanghai to attend the Half the Sky Shanghai Fundraising Gala, which she described as an unforgettable experience:
“It was so wonderful to be part of the global team who came together to make the event a success—helping hands from America, Australia, Hong Kong and China! You could tell that the guests could feel the passion from the team and were inspired to support Half the Sky’s work!”
Our trip reinforced our core belief that all children deserve to know that other people love and value them. That all children are worthy of the opportunity to grow up to reach their full potential, and to learn to not doubt themselves or their worthiness.
On behalf of the entire Half the Sky Australia team, I would like express our deepest gratitude to the many amazing people who travelled with us, welcomed us with open arms, shared their stories with us, translated for us, and generally made this trip so memorable. Our time with the children was a stark reminder of how important our work is in China! THANK YOU, and thank you to all our supporters who make our work possible in Hunan and Yunnan Provinces!
