On 17 June 2016, at the Sydney Headquarters of Australia’s iconic Macquarie Group, friends of Half the Sky Foundation, both old and new, gathered with Half the Sky Foundation’s Deanne Bevan, Guy Russo, Lauren O’Hara and Veronica Reich  – at the gracious invite of Mr Dan Phillips, Macquarie Capital’s Executive Director.

It truly was an insightful evening where guests learnt more about Macquarie’s commitment to making a difference to the communities in which it conducts business  – an initiative that warrants both heartfelt praise and respect. Guests were also treated to Deanne’s moving introduction to Half the Sky Foundation and her hopes for Half the Sky’s future. Guy also addressed the room and touched on various topics, both personal and professional.

Half the Sky dearly thanks Dan and his staff for their abundant hospitality. Heart-felt thanks also to those who attended and to those who participated in the electrifying live auction. With the matching contribution from Macquarie Foundation, almost $200,000 was raised, making it possible for lasting and meaningful change to the lives and futures of China’s most disadvantaged children.
